Strengthening Rigor in Mixed Methods Research

Mixed methods research combines quantitative and qualitative research methods. However, assessing the rigor of such a study is challenging, because the standards used in quantitative or qualitative research do not mutually apply. This research project develops guidance for conducting rigorous mixed methods research and creates a first-of-its-kind evidence-based tool to support academic researchers, reviewers and policy makers to strengthen rigour in mixed methods research in psychology.
